Metaio Creator

Metaio Creator is a really interesting software. we can either do a vector ( black & white/greyscale [prefer]) and then put either 3D model(s), picture(s), audio(s), YouTube link or some other things on it. Then when we scan it with phone or tablet, the 3D models (or other) will appear. If we put link, the phone or tablet will jump to browser and open the link.

Metaio Creator
This is how the Metaio Creator look like (in Mac).

Click on the "+" on Trackable
You can choose either Images or Extended Image or Object or Environment or Face Tracking. We have tried Image Tracking and Object Tracking. For Image Tracking, It's the one that you create a vector, put 3D model or pictures or links. For Object Tracking, it have more steps to do.

First, we download the app in our phone called "Toolbox" (Metaio Toolbox). Then in the app, we click "3D Maps" and we start scanning the object we want. We scan around the object to make sure it is able to track the whole 3D view of it. After that, we go back to "File Management" and share the file. We can e-mail it to ourselves and then open the mail in our computer and save it.

Then we open the Creator and click on the Trackables and then click the Object Tracking. Choose the file that we save and it will be in the screen. Then we click on the 3D models in "Resource" and import the model we want.

The red dots are the model that we scanned.
The images around it is showing the view of the model.
The man model is the 3D model I've choose.
Then we scan the object in an app called "Jenaio". That is an example. The images and video below will show the result of what we have done.

Adobe Edge

Today we have learn another new software for website. The 1st thing we try to do is parallax website scrolling.

The first exercise we did is making the sushi move with rotation / clipping / and motion path. This is what I did.

For the Sushi, we can create it in Adobe Illustrator. Then we can slice it with the slice tool and then select the part we want, then save the selected slice into gif. file or png. file. After we save it we can import it into Adobe Edge and play around with it.

This is the end product for my sushi.

Second exercise was playing around with the music. We have to let it mute and unmute the music.

I've create 2 button and 1 is mute and another is unmute. they are both stack together and when the music is playing, viewer can only see Unmute button. When the music is mute, the viewer can only see Mute button.

I found that Adobe Edge and Adobe Muse is a lot more suitable for me as I am not good in coding.

After Museum.........

After the we visit the museum, we still had time, so we decide to go to Pusat Sains Negara, which is in Kuala Lumpur too.

Pusat Sains Negara is much more fun than the museum because almost everything are interactive.

For example, we have this piano kind of thing on the floor where we can step on it.

This is how normal people play with it.

This is how Sadad play with it.

Why play it like everyone did when we can play it in a "even-more-fun-way" right?

Lecture, me and the super cute bird!!!!!!
Lastly... a video to show how crazy design student play..

End.

Class trip to Museum

On september 9, we had a class trip to Muzium Negara. It's open from 9 a.m until 6 p.m. It is located in Kuala Lumpur.

7 tickets for 7 of us :)
When we walk in, I saw something interesting that I did not expect would be in museum.

There is actually QR code for every objects. We can scan the QR code and and read all the information about it. If we don't have the app to scan the QR code, we can deal the numbers and call it, it will run to the page where you can read the information. We had fun together in the museum. Below is the pictures we took:

First Class!!

I've learn a new software called Adobe Muse. This software is to create website. I've learn other software that create website too, but this software is much more easier and save alot of time too. We create a flowchart with how many pages we want first. Then we can start adding things like header and footer in the A-Master page. By adding the things in A-Master, it makes my life so much easier because it will appear in all the other pages too. After that, we can edit other pages with other things like home, gallery, contact and etc.

In Adobe Muse, we don't have to deal with all the complicated coding. If we want to create a box, we just basically create a box. Its just that simple. If we want to have text at on the left, we just create a box on the left. If we want to change the box to right side, we just drag the box to right side. Same goes with the text too. We dont have to type any code to create all the stuff or make it stay at the place we want.

In conclusion, Adobe Muse is an awesome software for me to create a website (so far) .
